Mikiya Jones

My work is about finding my voice, freedom, and strength in the midst of the storm. Through layered acrylic painting and intuitive mark-making, I explore survival through softness and faith. Each piece reflects a lived experience—moments of endurance, surrender, and trust. My faith anchors my creative process. Even in uncertainty, I create from a place of God’s peace—a peace that cannot be broken by circumstance. My work serves as both release and prayer, honoring the journey of becoming while pointing toward hope, protection, and inner resilience.

Mikiya Jones 2026 Selected Works

Motherhood

Acrylic on canvas

This piece reflects strength, resilience, and nurture found within motherhood.  As a mother myself, i can relate to the everyday challenges while still showing up for our little ones. Using acrylic on canvas, It honors the resilience required to nurture life while learning to hold oneself with compassion..

Her

Acrylic on canvas

This work represents identity inside and out.  I created this piece at a time in my life where I was trying to find my voice. This piece represents there’s power in silence, but more so in truth, and honoring that fire within with conviction.

Peace and Protection

Acrylic on canvas

This piece embodies spiritual covering and stillness within chaos. It reflects the quiet assurance of faith—peace that remains steady even when external conditions feel uncertain. This piece was inspired by bible verses Matthew 6:25-34.

Prayer Warrior

Acrylic and pen on canvas paper

This piece was created in a season where prayer became my refuge. It reflects strength rooted in faith, protection in the unseen, and peace that remains even in the midst of the storm.
