Devan Ashton

 I am an artist and painter currently attending my senior year at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. My art practice involves a few different styles and expressions. I am a transgender male identifying as queer and a huge focus of my art involves lgbtq topics and in depth psychological trauma.  My oil paintings are focused on living in a transgender body, dealing with surgeries, body dysmorphia, and social repercussions of transition. I deal with externalizing feelings and use anthropomorphic forms and bring the internal outward. My acrylic art is abstraction, surrealism, and expressionistic. I remind myself to not take life too seriously and don’t forget to play. My passion for my work is unmeasurable and I wouldn’t be alive without it. Thank you for your time and consideration.
